Syrup Marketing is a brand, marketing and design agency located in Atlanta that has no qualms about laying bare the qualities needed to work there. Someone who embodies the three “F’s” of their culture: faith, fitness and fullness. The recruiting promo video was produced to highlight their culture.
We’ve had the pleasure to do a number of videos for Syrup over the past few years (when they were previously known as eyespeak.). But that was always on behalf of their clients. This was the first time we had the pleasure to produce a video for them directly.
Syrup has produced work for such companies as Chick-fil-A’s Leadercast as well as Northpoint Ministries (the largest church in the country). They used to focus primarily on brand development. But in 2014 they added ongoing marketing management services to their repertoire (e.g. digital marketing, social media strategy and marketing and sales administration and analysis). Doing so has caused their business to explode. So much so, they need to bring on new talent. What better way to do that than with a recruiting video.
When I sat down with their creative director to discuss what he wanted the video to be, he said something that really struck a cord: “The right video for us will repel the wrong people as much as it will attract the right people.”
On the surface, one might think such line of thinking is unusual. But it’s a very wise course of action to take. Not only in recruiting, but in promoting your business in general. So Syrup had their video reflect the meaning behind their core values of Love, Create, Steward and Engage; as well as their mission to utilize life balance, connect with their creator, and transform energy into enterprise.
